Language is essential for any form of communication among any subset of humans or animals. The need of language came up with the basic urge to express something even as basic as pain. Screaming to signal danger or laughter to express joy are the most basic form of communication acceptable all around the world. Now the problem will come when you want to ask someone what is wrong or why is someone so happy. Then you both will have to meet at a common ground, and that is a language.

Career Prospects

Possibilities of opportunities are limited by how many people you are able to communicate with. In today’s world where economic crisis take turns on different nations. If all you know is English then you are limited only to a recession struck economy and wont really be able to explore your chances in Europe where dominating language of communication is not English. Adding another language to your CV and skills will open a new world of opportunities for you and make you much more valued worker at your current place of work.

In Art and Movies

If you enjoy literature or movies then you already must have stumbled upon onto some author or some movie critic quoting a line in foreign language with a translation. For the best original effect you would rather want to read that poem in its original form and understand it first hand. As you go deeper in the world of movies you will realize that it only grows further not just in genre but in style. If you are planning on traveling cheap then knowing the local language will benefit you highly as you will no more be limited only to high class hotels or resorts which employee special staff just so that you can order your meal in your preferred language.

Some people get in relationships without any common language hence this phrase , love has no language. But then again without putting it in words or expressing it even in sign you cannot express the intensity. You can go as far as expressing that you care for someone but how do you express that you care way too much. And imaging the level of efforts, you have to substantiate, every emotion with action, that is a major undertaking.
